Disney and Pixar have finally released a teaser trailer for Toy Story 4 and it does its job correctly; teasing the audience while giving nothing away. Seriously, this teaser trailer doesn't reveal anything about the fourth film's story, which is good news for those that want to go in blindly. It's short, very nostalgic, but does introduce a new character; a fork with toy eyes who "doesn't belong here."
Prior to the fork's appearance, whose official name is Forky, we get to see all of our favorite characters from the previous movies: Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Rex, and the two Potato Heads, it should put a tear into the eyes of many fans. Granted, they try to go for comedy once Forky is introduced and it's a bit odd but we can always assume that the movie will be a lot better.
A lot of fans have taken umbrage with the fact that a fourth Toy Story film is being made since the third one was so emotional and heartbreaking. It truly felt like an ending, with Andy giving his toys away and going into college, which broke a lot of our hearts. Many also teared up when the toys were almost killed near the end, with all of them deciding to hold their hands and accept their fate together.
Still, Pixar does have a pretty solid reputation, so we can at least expect a solid story and some wonderful animation. Hopefully, this will be the final movie featuring these characters and Pixar can start working on newer films.
Toy Story 4 comes out on June 21, 2019. The characters from this world will also make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3, which comes out on January 25, 2019.
