I think we can all agree that Marvel Studios has capitalized big time on the hype surrounding Charlie Cox's Daredevil and keeping him as Matt Murdock in the billion-dollar franchise was definitely the right call. Following two successful outings in the MCU, the 39-year-old star is ready to embark on his renewed quest as the Man Without Fear in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again show.

Speaking of the anticipated series, it turns out that one actor from Top Gun: Maverick rejected a major offer to appear in the project. Insider Daniel Richtman reports (via The Direct) that Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto, who made a mark in Hollywood in NBC's hit comedy The Good Place was originally going to be part of the show. However, Jacinto's reason for turning down the mystery role remains unclear.

Richtman said: "Not as big but still interesting info I think - Manny Jacinto has passed on playing a major role in Daredevil: Born Again."

As it stands, Jacinto has yet to address the rumor surrounding his supposed MCU casting but it's worth noting that he's currently working on Star Wars' upcoming series The Acolyte. Considering filming for Daredevil: Born Again will begin in early 2023, it's safe to assume that scheduling conflicts may have gotten in the way of him joining the project.

Otherwise, it would be crazy to think that someone would pass up on the golden opportunity. I gotta say, it would have been neat to see him reunite with Jameela Jamil but hey, that's not to say that the MCU's doors have fully closed on him.

Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again is slated to hit Disney+ in Spring 2024.
