Toothless and Hiccup Return in First Poster for How to Train Your Dragon Homecoming

While the story of Hiccup and Toothless has basically ended with How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Dreamworks is still coming up with shorts and specials like they did with Shrek and Kung-Fu Panda. This holiday season will see the release of How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, and we have a look at the official poster.

Like a lot of holiday specials, it looks likes HTTYD will be giving the world its own version of Christmas called Snoggletog. We don't really know what to expect yet, but it's likely going to be the usual themes and gags you get from any Christmas special.

What's curious though, is that the special looks to be reuniting the dragons with the Vikings once again. A big part of the end of The Hidden World was that the dragons had moved away to live apart from the humans—thus making some sort of legend. Now the dragons look to be back at Berk, and maybe we could see some kind of reunion.

I would actually be pretty pleased with the dragons coming back since the foundation of the series is the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless. After all, they've been through, it felt like a kind of cheap move that Toothless would want to leave just because he found a mate. Plus, I prefer the story embraced the progress between the humans and the dragons, rather than regress and have them separate.

That's just my opinion at least.

Catch How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming when it comes out Dec. 3 on NBC.
