What is Tomodachi Game About?
The story centers on a high school student, Katagiri Yuuichi and his circle of friends. They are just your ordinary group of friends, hanging out with each other and constantly dealing with everyday high school life. Or so we thought.
One unfortunate day, Katagiri Yuuichi and his friends receive mysterious letters asking them to meet up. They all complied and went to see each other. However, all hell breaks loose when they get ambushed and knocked unconscious.
Upon waking up, they all realize that they are inside a mysterious room alongside "Manabu-kun," one of the characters from a canceled children's show. To the surprise of everyone, Manabu-kun requires them to play a survival game he calls the "Friendship Game" to pay off a huge debt. He also informs everyone that one of them indirectly gathered them together, perhaps telling the group that one of them is a traitor.
The Friendship Game will run a series of games that will test their trust and bond with each other. As the story goes, Yuuichi needs to identify who he can trust among his friends, despite everyone’s secrets and betrayals.
Entangled in a game of money, it is up to Yuuichi to decide which matters most: money or friends.

Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine revealed Tomodachi Game’s anime adaptation in its 49th volume. While the anime’s official Twitter account revealed the opening theme, the cast, staff, and a new visual.

Where to Watch Tomodachi Game
Tomodachi Game will debut on Nippon TV and BS Nippon TV. Crunchyroll has already announced that it will stream Tomodachi Game during Anime NYC, so international fans will be able to enjoy the episodes hassle-free.
Crunchyroll will simulcast the anime, which means global viewers will be able to watch the episodes one hour after Tomodachi Game premieres in Japan. Aside from that Hulu will also stream the anime.

What Studio is Producing Tomodachi Game?
Tomodachi Game's animation production will be handled by Okuruto Noboru, a Japanese animation studio based in Tokyo. Some of their popular works include How Not to Summon a Demon Lord and The Hidden Dungeon Only I can enter.
Meanwhile, Hirofumi Ogura will direct the show. He is responsible for directing anime shows such as Black Butler, Cells at Work, and Inuyasha (episode director). On the other hand, Kenta Ihara will provide the series composition. He has provided some of the best scripts for the best anime shows in the industry, such as Saga of Tanya the Evil, Death Parade, and Vinland Saga.
Meanwhile, Hiroto Morishita will be the sound director. He is the man behind the sounds of Monster Musume, Seven Mortal Sins, and Higurashi When They Cry-Gou. It was revealed that Nana Mizuki performed the opening theme song "Double Shuffle" for Tomodachi Game.
Chiaki Kobayashi will head the voice acting roles together with Tomohiro Ono, Yume Miyamoto, Daiki Hamano, and Satomi Amano. They will play Yuuichi, Makoto, Shiho, Tenji, and Yutori, respectively.
