All About Tomo-chan's Comedic Romance Vibes
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! follows Tomo Aizawa, a high-school girl who has fallen in love with her childhood friend, Junichirou Kubota, with whom she's recently been reunited.
However, Junichirou is oblivious to Tomo's advances and sees her as just "one of the guys," initially not even realizing that she's a girl.
The anime, known as Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! in Japanese, centers around Tomo's comedic attempts to escape the friend zone and make Junichirou aware of her feelings.
While this sounds like a very simple plot, it could work if handled well, as other slow-burn school romance anime have done very well lately.
Moreover, many young people are likely to have had an unrequited romance in their teenage life, making this a potentially relatable comedy.
If you'd like to do more reading and stay ahead, Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is based on a four-panel manga series that's written and illustrated by Fumita Yanagida.
What's even more interesting is that the series was originally published on Twitter!
The completed manga, which is now also available in print, counts eight volumes in total.

How Many Episodes Will Tomo-chan Is a Girl Have?
According to the popular anime database MyAnimeList, Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is going to have a total of 13 episodes.
This is an expected number for a single-cour anime, as most new titles feature between 12 and 13 episodes. Though, of course, there are always a few exceptions.
So, what does this indicate about potential additional content? At this time, it is hard to tell.
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is based on a four-panel manga that focuses on everyday life rather than an overtly complex plot.
Given that it's based on a completed manga with only eight volumes, it might be hard to glean enough material for a future second season.
Plus, given the simple slice-of-life structure of such a story, too many more episodes could cause the anime to drag too long.
With that being said, we have to wait for more episodes to come out to see what the pacing looks like, how much of the manga is being covered, and whether any additional content could be possible.
We'll keep you updated either way!
