Tom Holland Teases Bigger Role in Avengers: Infinity War and Compares His Spider-Man to Marty McFly

Tom Holland's appearance in Captain America: Civil War was one of the most exciting parts of the film, and of course, we can't wait to see him in Spider-Man: Homecoming this year. We already know that he will also return in Avengers: Infinity War, and according to Holland, we might be seeing a lot more of his character than we expected.

During an interview with Yahoo Movies, Holland talked about how Spider-Man is involved in Avengers: Infinity War, and it sounds like his presence will have more impact than his previous appearances.

"It's been crazy, man. It's been a really, really surreal experience. When I did Civil War, I only worked with Chris and Robert very briefly. Everyone else was sort of like, I was acting with a tennis ball or all this sort of stuff. I saw everyone, but I never got to work with them. For this now, I'm in a situation where I'm on set with all these guys doing scenes, fighting bad guys. It's been a real whirlwind. It's been a lot of fun."

It's good to know that Spider-Man is getting a much larger role in Avengers: Infinity War. Hopefully, Holland will have a lot of screentime. It seems that Homecoming director Jon Watts developed the character well. Holland also talked about how the director asked the actors to watch classic 80s films to get them inspired:

"I think that was one of the things that Jon set out to do and its just a reflection on him, as a director, that's he's getting this kind of response from it. He gave us a load of videos, old movies, to watch before starting shooting: Pretty in Pink, Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. My goal was to try and kind of be our generation's Marty McFly. That was what my all-time goal was, and I was actually lucky enough that a journalist said, 'Oh, you're kind of like Marty McFly in this movie."

I could see the resemblance between Marty McFly and Spider-Man: They're both launched into a whirlwind of new experiences that changes how they view life. I'm excited to see how the film will portray that side of Peter Parker, and I'm sure it's going to be a blast to watch how he will change.
