Tom Holland Shares Fun Video with Jake Gyllenhaal Pretending to be Spider-Man

Only recently has Jake Gyllenhaal started showing his involvement with Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Tom Holland shares this fun video of himself catching Gyllenhaal pretending to be Spider-Man in the mirror.

Check him out:

Gyllenhaal has been confirmed to be playing Mysterio in the movie, but the funny thing is, he was almost Spider-Man in the Sam Raimi films. Due to severe back pain, Tobey Maguire's involvement in Spider-Man 2 was compromised, and Gyllenhaal was tapped to replace him—even going so far as to start training. Good thing Maguire was able to recover though, and Gyllenhaal didn't have to take over.

With Mysterio's role in the sequel, rumor has it that he will be some kind of investigator who is hired by Nick Fury to catch creatures called ‘Elementals.' If you knew the character though, you might guess that Mysterio/Quentin Beck was actually behind these creatures all along, and he's probably just leading SHIELD and Spider-Man into some wild goose chase.

What's his modus? I'm guessing he's just some insane attention seeker like the Riddler, but I'll be impressed if the film manages to give him a more sinister reason. Of course, until anything is officially confirmed, this whole business with Elementals is just a rumor.

Spider-Man: Far from Home was supposed to release a trailer last Saturday, but it was delayed into an indefinite date. Some guess that this is because Sony wants to keep all focus on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Not to mention the new trailer might be overshadowed by the release of the first teaser for Avengers: Endgame.

Catch Spider-Man: Far from Home in theaters July 5, 2019.
