Tom Holland Reveals How They Kept Willem Dafoe's Secret Return in Spider-Man: No Way Home

The recently-released second trailer of Spider-Man: No Way Home gave us a glimpse of the villains from the past Spider-Man films that Tom Holland's Peter Parker is going to face. One of them is Green Goblin from 2002's Spider-Man played by Willem Dafoe, who is confirmed to reprise the role in the upcoming film.

Per Insider, during the recent fan event that launched the trailer, Holland shared the story with the audience about the moment he first met Dafoe on the set of the film. He said, "I just sort of bumped into this guy in a cloak and was like, 'Watch out, mate. He took his hood off and I almost got really scared. I was like, 'Oh shit. The Goblin's here.'"

He added, "He was lovely. He was really wonderful. There's a story that I would love to tell, but I just cannot tell it yet. You will hear it one day. It's very exciting."

It sounds like Dafoe and the other actors who played the villains were kept hidden on the set by wearing a cloak which has been the standard way for most productions on hiding the actors that they want to keep hidden from the public or the paparazzi. It is great to hear a confirmation that Dafoe and the others are going to make an appearance in the film, which has been speculated by fans for months.

Besides Dafoe, Alfred Molina (as Doc Ock), Thomas Haden Church (as Sandman), Rhys Ifans (as the Lizard), and Jamie Foxx (as Electro) are also confirmed to be making their return, reprising their villainous roles from the past Spider-Man films.

The anticipation for the film has been through the roof as there have been rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also be making an appearance. While the trailer didn't confirm the speculations, fans are still hoping that it will be true which we will find out either during the film's release or when they release another trailer (which is likely according to rumors).
