Tom Holland Hints Possible Retirement as Spider-Man

Spider-Man: No Way Home will mark Tom Holland's third solo outing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. As fans are speculating if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be appearing in the film, there are also some who are wondering about Holland's future in the franchise. Will he continue to play the character for many more years? As it turns out, the actor is already thinking about that.

In an interview with GQ, Holland addressed the possibility of him retiring to the role soon. He said, "Maybe it is time for me to move on. Maybe what’s best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film. I have to take Peter Parker into account as well, because he is an important part of my life. If I’m playing Spider-Man after I’m 30, I’ve done something wrong."

However, producer Amy Pascal seems to have shut out the idea as she wants Holland to play the role for a longer time. She said, "I’ve talked to him about doing, like, 100 more. I’m never going to make Spider-Man movies without him. Are you kidding me?"

There is a chance that Holland might just be playing coy about his future as Spider-Man. There have been rumors recently that Marvel is already planning another Spider-Man trilogy after No Way Home which would mean that he will have a longer stay in the MCU and will not go to Sony's Spider-Verse as some fans have also speculated.

It might also be strange for fans to hear that Holland might retire on the role soon, especially that it's just been five years since his debut. He is also just 25 years old and he is too young to exit the role. Spider-Man is also one of the popular MCU heroes so Marvel Studios might not want to end his run just yet (unless of course, their deal with Sony ends). We might also see him headline the franchise following the footsteps of his mentor Tony Stark.
