Tom Holland Confirms Marvel To Begin Filming Spider-Man 3 This Summer

It looks like Marvel is planning to begin work on Spider-Man 3 this summer. The novel coronavirus might be shutting down events and postponing films left and right, but it looks like Marvel plans to push for the production of its third Spider-Man movie with Sony Pictures this July.

Speaking in an interview with the Philippine newspaper Inquirer (via CBR.com), Marvel's Spider-Man star Tom Holland decided to confirm earlier reports about Spider-Man 3's production.

"We will be shooting Spider-Man 3 in July in Atlanta," the actor told the publication.

This might come as a surprise considering the fast spreading COVID-19. The novel coronavirus pandemic has shut down many media events. Disney had to cancel its Europe event launch for Disney+. The 2020 Electronic Entertainment Expo had to be cancelled. The release of films like No Time to Die and Mulan had to be pushed back. Though the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con International is still set for July, the organizers of the convention are still looking at the current status of the COVID-19 outbreak to assess their plan of action for the upcoming event.

Hopefully, COVID-19 finally dies out by the time Spider-Man 3's production rolls in. Details about the film's plot continues to be kept under tight wraps, but Holland has just recently confirmed one little detail aside from the production start 0 the return of Zendaya. The musician is set to reprise her role as Michelle Jones/MJ, Peter Parker's classmate and love interest from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Spider-Man 3 is set to premiere on July 16, 2021.
