Tom Holland and Zendaya Finally Break Silence on Spider-Man: No Way Home's Surprise Characters

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently breaking several box office records and the general audience seems to love it a lot since it has an A+ CinemaScore. But of course, the most-talked-about part of the film is the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, whose involvement has been denied and concealed by the people involved in the film for months.

Speaking with Marvel.com, after months of denial and getting tight-lipped, stars Tom Holland and Zendaya were finally able to address the involvement of Maguire, Garfield, and Charlie Cox in the film in which they discussed their experience working with the actors who made surprise appearances in the film.

"We had so much fun working with Charlie [Cox]," Holland said discussing his experience working with Cox, who made his return as Matt Murdock. "It's really interesting doing a scene between two Super Heroes that has no real Super Hero stuff in it. Apart from the bit when he catches the brick. It was awesome."

Regarding their experience working with Maguire, the two have nothing but positive to say about their experience working with the former Spider-Man actor. "He was really excited to be back. You could tell it really meant a lot to him. Him putting the suit on again. Us getting back together. It was awesome," Holland said.

They also recalled the moment when Holland, Maguire, and Garfield had their first rehearsal together in which they compared it to the experiencing of dropping a kid in a kindergarten school during the first day. "Like dropping you off at kindergarten for the first day," Zendaya recounted. "Like, ‘I hope the other kids like him.’ And like, ‘I hope he doesn't come back crying.’ And so we were just there, and I was taking pictures of you guys so that you could have it. It was so cute."

When they discussed their experience working with Garfield, the two also have nothing but positive to say about their experience working with him and they even called him a "legend." Holland said, "Andrew Garfield, the legend himself. He's such a lovely guy. I think this film was his way of making peace with Spider-Man It was such a privilege to work with him. I know that it meant a lot to him."

Zendaya added, "It was so beautiful. [Tobey, Andrew, and Tom] care so deeply about the characters, and what their characters— what their journey had been as Spider-Man. It was so beautiful to see all of you guys connect on that and be able to talk to each other about such a special experience that very few people have been able to don the suit. It was great to see how much you guys all really cared and had each other's back. It was really sweet."

For sure, Holland and Zendaya are relieved that they can finally discuss the involvement of Maguire and Garfield. It is nice to hear that they had a wonderful time working with them. You can also feel when you watch the film that the three Spider-Men really did enjoy their time being together. There are definitely a lot more behind-the-scenes stories from the set that fans would love to hear and hopefully we'll get to find out more about it soon.
