Tom Hiddleston's Loki Series Adds Into The Badlands Star Sophia Di Martino

The upcoming Loki series has just found a mysterious new character to join the God of Mischief. Into the Badlands star Sophia Di Martino has just been cast alongside Tom Hiddleston in the highly anticipated Marvel series.

The casting news was confirmed by Variety although Di Martino's role is still unknown. However, there is a possibility that she will be one of the lucky (or unlucky, depending on who you're talking to) people who encounters Loki as he revisits some of humanity's historical moments.

Di Martino has appeared in several British shows including Flowers, Mount Pleasant, Friday Night Dinner, and Casualty. She played Lily, Bajie's wife in Into the Badlands Season 3. Her most recent role was in the Danny Boyle film Yesterday.

For now, Di Martino and Hiddleston are the only confirmed cast members of Loki. However, there are speculations that other Marvel stars will be joining the show as well. Some believe that Benedict Cumberbatch could appear in the series as Stephen Strange since Loki is expected to be tied-in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

The Loki series is already expected to begin production in early 2020. Michael Waldron will serve as showrunner while Kate Herron will be the series director. The show is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in early 2021.
