We're all hyped up for Loki Season 2 after what went down in the first season finale. But is it possible that the sequel is already in pre-production? Tom Hiddleston has dropped an unexpected update on the show's next season.
In the final episode of Loki Season 1, it was confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe series has been renewed for a second season. However, it was not immediately confirmed when the show will begin production or its official release date.
Amazingly, it looks like Loki Season 2 has already started pre-production. Hiddleston recently spoke to Marvel.com where he expressed his gratitude to fans for the show's renewal.
"I am so grateful that we got to do Season 1, I still am not quite able to process that we get to have another go at this. I am so excited by the possibilities," Hiddleston shared. The Avengers: Endgame star then shared how far into the second season they already are in.
"We are already in discussions. Deep, deep, deep discussions. I can't wait to get started," Hiddleston said. "I want to say thank you to the audience because without the audience, we wouldn't be able to make a Season 2 ... I hope Season 1 was full of surprises. And I think Season 2 will be full of even more."
It wouldn't be a surprise if Loki Season 2 is halfway done. There are speculations that some of the episodes for the next season were filmed during Season 1. Fans have pointed out that there were scenes that appeared in the trailer that didn't show up in the first season.
Of course, there's a possibility that those scenes were deleted from the final cut. Still, people are hoping that it means that Loki is using some footage that has already been filmed. With that in mind, we could be seeing the show's return a lot sooner than you think.
All episodes of the first season of Loki are now streaming on Disney+. Loki Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
