Tokyo Revengers is the anime series adaptation of the shōnen manga series of the same name by Ken Wakui published in the Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine which recently received 2020's Kodansha Manga Award under the shōnen category. Liden Films animates the series with the director Koichi Hatsumi, writer Yasuyuki Mutō, character designer Keiko Ōta, sound director Satoki Iida, and music composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi.
The main focus of the series circles on Takemichi Hanagaki who never thought that his life, thinking its at its lowest, couldn't go any further below. Takemichi learned about the death of his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, in the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, the notorious group of criminals breaking the peace of the community.
In his quest on where it all went wrong, Takemichi travels back in time, 12 years behind the present, to the time when he was still with Hinata. An idea popped up in his mind, a chance to try and save Hinata with her gruesome future ending too soon, Takemichi tries to get into the Tokyo Manji Gang, climb the ranks, and reach the topmost position in the gang to be able to save future of Hinata.
With the opening theme song of "Cry Baby" of the band Official HIGE DANdism, the series will be running with 24 episodes, in a double-cour.

What happened in Tokyo Revengers Episode 1?
In Tokyo Revengers Episode 1, Reborn, we are introduced to Takemichi and we're given the preview of how his life burns him out with him not doing really well with his part-time job and recently becoming a victim of bullying in his neighborhood.
Just when he thought his life couldn't get any worse, he opens the television one day to hear the news about his ex-girlfriend, Hinata, who was murdered along with her brother by the gang of Tokyo Manji.
When Takemichi heads home, he goes to the train station where he has pushed down the tracks with a train about to arrive. His last thoughts were of Hinata. He woke up and regain consciousness but he realized something was odd. He looked in the mirror to find out he traveled back in time, 12 years prior, to the time when he and Hinata were still together.
