Dragon Ball FighterZ might just be the best Dragon Ball game out there and is, without a shadow of the doubt, the best fighting game of 2018. It's a fantastic three-on-three fighter combining the fast-paced action of a Marvel vs Capcom game with the over-the-top mayhem seen in a Dragon Ball Z episode. Sadly, it has been pulled from a number of tournaments despite its reputation, with may either blaming Shonen Jump, Bandai Namco, or Toei Animation.
One fan tried to accuse Toei of removing the fighting game from several tournaments but the animation company has denied this, which can be seen below. The company says they have "no knowledge" about preventing tournaments for the popular anime fighter, which means that either Bandai Namco or Shonen Jump are responsible.
There are rumors that Bandai Namco wants to start their own tournament show, with FighterZ as one of their premiere games. The company does have other fighters to show off, like Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur VI but it's clear that everyone prefers the game that has Goku in it.
Not having FighterZ in next year's EVO would be a big mistake since the one this year drew a lot of people and also resulted in one of the most must-watch fights seen in years. Sonic Fox ended up winning EVO and proving his doubters wrong and it would be a shame to see others who are good at the game not having a similar moment.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
