Todd Phillips Will Work on One Other DC Movie Aside From Joker Sequel

DC's Joker movie is officially a part of the billion-dollar club, ensuring that the company will continue making these kinds of films, which isn't a bad thing. Despite initial comments from Todd Phillips, the director seems to have signed on for a sequel, which is going to be really interesting since most of us assumed that it would stay as a self-contained movie.

Well, aside from the upcoming Joker sequel, it looks like we're also getting another big DC movie from Phillips. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Phillips is actually interested in making more DC origin movies similar to Joker. While this was initially refused by Warner Bros. the success of Joker has changed things and we now know that he will work on at least one more DC movie.

Most of us are hoping that he will work on a Lex Luthor movie, which would be fascinating if he takes a similar "realistic" approach to the film. While the Joker movie was slightly inspired by The Killing Joke, it would be hard to imagine what kind of take he could do with Luthor. Granted, they could make him like Donald Trump but we aren't sure anyone would like that.

As we wait for more news on Joker 2, or whatever it's called, it seems like DC is going to focus more on these kinds of movies. They aren't going to give up on the DCEU, especially with Wonder Woman: 1984 and Black Adam on the way but it seems like they finally realized that they don't have to compete with Marvel. Finally.

Joker has finished its initial theater run and we should expect a Blu-ray release soon.
