Despite Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' reluctance to confirm anything ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home's release, webheads are more than convinced that Tobey Maguire is in fact returning as the web-slinger in the anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. Over the last couple of months, several insider scoops from Hollywood tipsters coupled with alleged behind-the-scenes images from the film which see Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland together in one frame have been making the rounds all over social media.
Unsurprisingly, the people involved in the film have constantly denied the rumors, a move that is absolutely understandable considering the level of secrecy Marvel is known for. However, an official promo for Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to seal the deal regarding Maguire's triumphant Spidey return 14 years after his last official swing.
Barkbox, a monthly subscription service filled with pet toys includes a promotional tie-in flier for Spider-Man: No Way Home which is currently fueling speculation all over social media. The said flier predominantly features Tom Holland's version of the character wearing his upgraded suit. Now, if you'll look at the image closely, you'll notice Maguire's mask in the background along with the same Daily Bugle newspaper featured in the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man film from 2002.

I mean, I totally get why Sony and Marvel are still on the fence about dropping the bombshell casting news and I won't be surprised if they'll decide to have both Tobey and Andrew appear in the film itself just to keep the excitement going. One thing's for certain though, there's no doubt that Maguire will in fact be showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and all signs definitely point to him returning.
Spider-Man: No Way Home swings to theaters on December 17, 2021.
