Many of us thought it would never happen again but Spider-Man: No Way Home marked the triumphant return of Tobey Maguire to the Marvel film franchise. Despite his hair-raising comeback, a lot of webheads are still in a state of major disbelief and astonishment to see it actually do down, and frankly, it's totally understandable.

When the film finally came out, both Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield have appeared in various interviews to talk about the MCU blockbuster but for some reason, Tobey has been missing in action. To be fair, the 46-year-old star is known for living a lowkey life these days but in a rare interview, Maguire finally broke his silence and explained exactly why he accepted Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' offer to reprise his Spidey role.

Appearing in a virtual interview with Holland and Garfield on Spider-Man's official YouTube channel, Tobey revealed that the idea of No Way Home being a huge celebration of all Spider-Man films intrigued him. He said: "Maybe you could just give me a little bit of information. But, I don't know. I gotta say, I was intrigued immediately."

He continued: "In that conversation, the intention, the kind of love and celebration of these movies, and what it meant I think to Amy and Kevin was apparent. To me, when artists or people who are um steering the creative process have a kind of authentic, genuine intent of celebration and love, it just was so apparent in both of them that I just wanted to join that."

As someone who grew up watching Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, I was nearly brought to tears when Tobey showed up in No Way Home. Now, I'm not saying I know better but it would be cool to see Maguire finally make the scrapped Spider-Man 4 and reunite with Raimi who is directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is still screening in cinemas worldwide.
