To Your Eternity Episode 17 has just been released and, as Fushi's story comes to an end, for now, a Season 2 seems plausible - though yet unconfirmed. While nothing will replace the Gugu arc, as Tonari's relationship with Fushi is less strongly built-up, you can't help wondering what is going to happen next - and hoping that we are finally getting rid of Hayase.
The preview of Episode 18 suggests that it'll be huge, with the Nokkers making another appearance. While it's hard to not think of Tonari's arc as a foregone conclusion and her tragedy isn't as poignant as March's or Gugu's, we can't help wondering if the Jananda arc will be any different.

To Your Eternity Episode 17 Recap
To Your Eternity is adapting an award-winning manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Oima, who is also the author of A Silent Voice. In it, we follow the story of a mysterious immortal being who first comes to the earth nameless and emotionless. The being, who comes to be known as Fushi can take any form but starts with no identity and becomes increasingly human through stimulation.
Warning: If you have yet to watch To Your Eternity Episode 17 you might want to skip to the next section as there will be spoilers below.
After Hayase drugs Fushi, winning the tournament and becoming the leader of Jananda, she claims him for her own. Fearing the assassination attempts, she passes her rights on to Tonari, hoping that this will cause other residents to eliminate her so that Hayase is free to do as she pleases with Fushi.
Tonari and her friends run to Fushi's aid but are stopped by Hayase's guards. Fushi promises to let Hayase do with him whatever she wants if only she'll let Tonari and the others go.
As the new leader of Jananda, Tonari has the right to do anything she wants. She chooses to leave the island with her friends. Their ship has room for 700 people, so they take Pioran, as well as all children under eight, in order to give them a chance in life.
At the last possible moment, Tonari leaves the ship with a boat and goes back for Fushi.

Episode 18, titled "To Move Forward," is going to be released in one week, on Monday the 16th of August.

users will be able to watch Episode 18 upon release as a SimulCast. If you're streaming your free, you'll have to wait a bit longer, likely an extra week, and there will be ads. Episode 17 should be available to all by August 16.
