To Your Eternity Episode 10 Recap

To Your Eternity is adapting an award-winning manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Oima, who is also the author of A Silent Voice. In it, we follow the story of a mysterious immortal being who first comes to the earth nameless and emotionless. The being, who comes to be known as Fushi can take any form but starts with no identity and becomes increasingly human through stimulation.

Warning: If you have yet to watch To Your Eternity Episode 10 you might want to skip to the next section as there will be spoilers below.

Fushi is the brother Gugu needed, but Fushi himself has no room to complain. Gugu went out of his way to save him by throwing fire powered by alcohol at the monster that was attacking Fushi, rescuing him - all while accidentally drunk! For me, fighting sequences aren't the strong point of To Your Eternity, or even what the anime is about. Gugu drunkenly defending Fushi, in front of Rean's shocked parents no less, made an otherwise serious issue so much more hilarious!

With Fushi saved, Rean has to go back home with her parents, but not before they can all enjoy Gugu's cooking. Outside, Fushi has a chat with his creator, who tells him that he must leave that house and go elsewhere to keep receiving stimulation and become stronger. Fushi argues that he needs Gugu, so his creator tells him that if Fushi wants to see this circle until its completion, he has no objection.

Fast forward four years later, Gugu and Fushi are happy young men, still living with "Beer Man" and Pioran. Rean frequently runs away to spend time with them and they all live as a beautiful family. They are all so funny and heartwarming to watch, but I feel heartbreak is very near. Let's see if Episode 11 will prove me wrong!
