Earlier this year, Deadpool 2 had a snide comment about how much darker the DCEU was compared to Marvel, and for some reason, DC Universe's Titans decided to call back to Deadpool, telling him to, "Suck it," with a new promo.
Check it out:
What's ridiculous is, Deadpool called out the franchise for being too dark, and the show releases a promo with Robin going all violent, and then they follow it up with a, "Suck it, Mr. Pool." If you ask me, they should've filled the clip with more lighthearted moments if they wanted to prove Deadpool wrong.
Or maybe what they meant was for Deadpool to, "Suck it up," because they were embracing the dark tone? Either way, it's pretty sloppy marketing, DC. If you want to be edgy, at least get it right.
For now, DC is trying to get more people on board for their streaming service which will include exclusive content and material—one of them being the live-action Titans show. Oddly enough, Anna Diop's Starfire was the one getting the most hate before the show's launch, but once Titans was screened to critics, she was said to be the standout character, next to her was Beast Boy. Robin was said to have been fine, but most of the critics didn't seem to like Raven at all.
I guess we'll just have to wait for what everyone else thinks about the show when it airs Oct. 12 on DC Universe.
