Tina Fey Teams Up with Netflix for Animated Show about an Alien Apocalypse

Besides her movie career, Tina Fey had done some fun things on TV with shows like 30 Rock and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Now news has it that Fey is going to be teaming up with Netflix once more for an animated series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fey, along with fellow 30 Rock producer Robert Carlock, has teamed up with Netflix for a show called Mulligan, which will focus on the struggle of humans restarting society after an alien attack destroys the world.

We don't have any more specifics on the show yet, but we know that Fey and her team can bring the humor based on what's come before. This is also just my personal preference, but I hope Fey's husband Jeff Richmond would come back and compose the music because I really love the Broadway feel of the music from both 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt.

With BoJack Horseman ending earlier this year, Netflix is now filling up on more animated originals. We still have great shows with the likes of Big Mouth and F is for Family, but we're also going to be getting animated series from Taika Waititi spinning off from Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Hopefully, Mulligan manages to be just as meaningful as the shows that have come before it.

No release date has been set for Mulligan, but hopefully, the show will hit Netflix sometime in 2021.
