Tiger King Season 2 is Coming to Netflix This Year


Joe Exotic will be back!

On Thursday, Netflix has announced that Tiger King, the true crime documentary that premiered in 2020, will be returning for a second season to continue the tale of the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic.

Netflix shared a new teaser that showed brief clips of familiar faces, including former business partner Jeff Lowe and Big Cat Rescue owner Carole Baskin. Netflix hasn't announced an official release date for Tiger King Season 2, but the streamer confirmed that it will be out by the end of this year.

The first season of Tiger King premiered on Netflix in March 2020 when many viewers were stuck at home amid COVID-19 lockdowns. The docuseries turned out to be a huge success as it told the story of Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, The Tiger King through real-life footage of the zoo compund where Joe lived and worked, and interviews of people involved. Tiger King also explored the wildlife trafficking issue in the US .

It's still unclear how the new season will continue Joe Exotic's story since he's still in prison after being conficted in 2019 on 21 counts: two for hiring hitemen to kill Baskin, a charge he still denies, and 19 counts of wildlife crimes.
