The 3 Body Problem aliens in both the Netflix series and book follow the same basic description. However, there were some tweaks made in the series.

As far as we've gathered, the aliens in 3 Body Problem are called Trisolarans. They come from the only planet in the Alpha Centauri System, called Trisolaris.

Because their home planet is already endangered, these aliens planned to invade other universes.

According to the fandom site, the planet, Trisolaris, is around 4.21 light-years from Earth. The planet orbits in a chaotic three-star system.

Because its gravitational forces are subject to the three-star system, the planet has unpredictable movement.

This has also led the planet to experience an unstable system with irregular cycles between extreme heat and extreme cold.

Since their planet has become "incredibly hostile to life," the Trisolaras are eager to leave the planet. When they discover Earth, they are eager to travel to the planet.

As described in the book, the 3 Body Problem aliens are capable of communicating via visual light. Because of this, the aliens are unable to lie or keep secrets from one another.

A Reddit user shared details of what Trisolarans should look like.

The post shared:

"From what I can remember:
reflective bodies (for reflecting the heat from their stars during Chaos Era)
dehydration ability was real
male and female could became one organism (offspring)"

Since these aliens have the ability to dehydrate their bodies due to the chaotic and hostile climate of their planet, the Trisolarans turn into lifeless dry fiber. Interestingly, they can survive for centuries once they are in this state.

When the aliens are in this state, they are unable to communicate normally. They can only communicate with the help of electromagnetic wave patterns that their brain directly produces.

Once the Trisolarans are successful in inhabiting Earth, they can adapt to the planet without needing to change its biosphere or atmosphere.

You can keep an eye on 3 Body Problem when it comes out on March 21, 2024.
