Thousands of Star Wars Fans Want Hayden Christensen to Return as Anakin Skywalker

The Skywalker saga might have come to an end with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker last year, however, it seems like thousands of Star Wars fans are hoping to see Hayden Christensen return to the galaxy far, far away as Anakin Skywalker.

Hoping to gauge Star Wars fans' reaction to the rumors that Christensen would reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in Lucasfilm's upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series, Radio Times put up a poll asking readers whether they would be keen to see the actor return to Star Wars.

Interestingly enough, the poll results ended up being a landslide win for the prequel trilogy star. Out of 2000+ respondents, 94% were keen on the idea of having Christensen appear as pre-Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Only 6% of the respondents weren't too fond of the idea for reasons unknown.

While Lucasfilm has yet to offer official updates for Obi-Wan Kenobi, it's clear that the Star Wars fanbase is hoping to see Anakin Skywalker make his way back to the franchise. Despite the years of ridicule that Christensen has had to endure for his take on the younger version of Darth Vader, fans have begun to express a fondness for the actor and his iteration of Anakin Skywalker.

Unfortunately, there still isn't any certainty that Lucasfilm will have Anakin make a return in the Star Wars franchise. There have been multiple cameo rumors over the years, however, the only appearance that came to fruition was Christensen's short voice cameo that came towards the end of The Rise of Skywalker.

Let's hope that Lucasfilm offers more for the actor in the future.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available for streaming on Disney+.
