Thor: Ragnarok Star Anthony Hopkins Pays Tribute to Late Chadwick Boseman After Oscar Win

There is little doubt that people are disappointed that the late Chadwick Boseman wasn't given the Best Actor award at the 93rd Academy Awards. However, it looks like the man who took home the Oscar wants to make sure the Black Panther star is honored. Thor: Ragnarok actor Anthony Hopkins paid tribute to Boseman in a new video addressing his win.

Hopkins was awarded the Best Actor trophy at this year's Academy Awards for his performance in The Father. However, the former Marvel Cinematic Universe star did not give an acceptance speech at the event because he was at home in Wales during the ceremony.

Luckily, the veteran actor has shared a video addressing his latest Oscar win and Hopkins made sure to pay tribute to Boseman.

"I want to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who was taken from us far too early. I really did not expect this, so I feel very privileged and honored," Hopkins said.

Boseman was posthumously nominated for the Best Actor award for his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The 21 Bridges star had previously been awarded the Best Actor award at the Golden Globes.

Although both Hopkins and Boseman have appeared in MCU movies, they never got to work together on a project. Hopkins appeared in the first three Thor movies while Boseman played a major role in Captain America: Civil War before showing up in his own solo film and the last two Avengers films.

Another MCU star nabbed an Oscar at last night's ceremony. Daniel Kaluuya, who also appeared in Black Panther, took home the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Judas and The Black Messiah.
