Thor 4: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi Returning to Write and Direct

Though Avengers: Endgame had wrapped up the stories of Captain America and Iron Man, the book is still open for Thor. As it turns out, Thor will be getting a fourth movie, and it looks like production is moving forward what with Marvel finding its director.

As per The Hollywood Reporter,Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi is coming back to write and direct the fourth Thor movie. We don't really know what the story could be about, but hopefully it will pick up after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. With Thor flying off with the Guardians at the finale of Endgame, I would love it that he would appear in the movie in the same level that Hulk was part of Ragnarok.

While Ragnarok did make a lot of bank in the box office, I personally think it's not Waititi's best work. When it comes to his movies like What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, I think Waititi really shines when he makes very ‘human' stories. When it comes to Ragnarok, it was kind of a silly cartoon that didn't feel as sincere as Waititi's other films.

Of course, that's just one person's opinion.

For now, Waititi is going to be promoting the release of his next non-Marvel film, Jojo Rabbit, which stars Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson. Afterwards, it looks like it's straight back to work with Thor.

No release date has been set for Thor 4, but hopefully we get an announcement this coming SDCC 2019. Marvel's panel takes place at Hall H on July 20.
