Avengers Endgame Fanart Imagines What Lady Death Could Look Like

Thanos was still a genocidal maniac in the comics, but rather than a desire for balance to save the universe, his motives were just to impress his love, the literal personification of Death. They decided to cut Death off for the MCU since she was a very high concept kind of character, but internet artist BossLogic gives us his take of what an in-MCU Lady Death could look like.

Though I'm sure a lot of people would have preferred the films stuck to the comics, I think it would be kind of hard to sympathize with Thanos that he would kill because of some misguided obsession with another character. The way they write it, Thanos is the hero of his own story, and in a way, he's just as selfless as any of the Avengers were when it came to his mission.

Some were thinking that they could have just retooled Hela from Thor: Ragnarok to be Lady Death, but again, I think it's a more powerful message that Thanos' goal was to save the universe his way.

For now, The Infinity Saga has closed, and Thanos has finally been defeated. We don't really know if we'll ever see him again; there's some concept art from The Eternals that feature a young Thanos, but even now it's not something set in stone.

Josh Brolin has said he would love to reprise Cable (Deadpool 2) for the MCU, so maybe that can be some kind of return for the Mad Titan.

For now, catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters today.
