Thor: Love and Thunder Actor Shares Hilarious Story on How He Got Cast as Hercules

The mid-credits scene of Thor: Love and Thunder surprised the audience as they revealed that Hercules is making his MCU debut and he is played by none other than Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. His appearance definitely teased that we will see more of him in the future of the MCU.

While we do know that Goldstein is a talented and hilarious actor, he is not one of the actors that you would ever think of when casting the role and there is no denying that Marvel Studios took an unconventional approach in terms of who they were casting to play the beloved hero.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Emmy-winning actor shared a hilarious story on how he got cast to play Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder. Just like the fans, he is also surprised that he was chosen by Marvel to play the role.

"It came completely out of nowhere. I just got an email saying that 'Marvel producers would like to talk to you about something.' Obviously, I wasn't allowed to know any of it and then I had a Zoom," he said.

"They literally just explained, 'Hey, Brett. We're making this Thor: Love and Thunder and in the end of it, blah blah blah this happens and this happens and then the camera spins around and it's you.' And I went, 'Are you f*cking joking?!'"

Goldstein also shared that Marvel showed him an artwork of him as Hercules prior to filming his part. However, when asked whether he will appear in more future projects, he joked that he is not allowed to say anything since Marvel "put a chip" in his head.

Based on the actor's story, it sounds like Marvel Studios was really keen on casting the actor to play the role and he was perhaps their first choice when they were casting the role for the short moment in the film.

It is exciting to see what's next for the actor in the MCU and a lot of fans are certainly looking out for his future appearances, especially since they teased that he will be facing Thor.
