Star Wars: Episode IX Concept Trailer Sees Rey Dream of Duel of Mustafar


As fans wait for the release of the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer, a talented YouTuber decides to help people get by with an incredible concept trailer for the trilogy capper.

The creator, Smasher, is known for making viral concept trailers for High School Musical, Captain Marvel, Teen Titans, and Venom among many others. For his take on Star Wars: Episode IX, he did not disappoint.

The trailer incorporates some of the best moments in the original and prequel trilogy by weaving them into the story of Rey as she continues her search for answers.

Her quest to find a belonging leads to her having dreams about the past, specifically when Anakin was becoming Darth Vader. She sees him and Obi-Wan duel in Mustafar before she is awoken by the sound of the latter's voice, telling her, "These are your first steps."

This is in the first part of the trailer that fans unanimously loved. The trailer posits that there may be a connection between Rey and Anakin, which is why his lightsaber was calling to her in The Force Awakens.

The clip also shows Princess Leia's hologram plea to Obi-Wan. We can also hear Luke's voice embracing his destiny in one of his iconic moments in all of Star Wars. "I'm a Jedi, like my father before me." As he says these words, you can see him as a young man in Tatooine without a clue of how his life will change forever.

This was back to back with a scene from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones that sees Anakin when he himself was back in the same planet, looking for his mother. Watch it below.

The video is well-edited as many commenters pointed out. Many fans believe it was the best concept trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX yet. In fact, some people went so far as to say that they hope the final film in the trilogy, which will conclude the Skywalker saga, will resemble this story in some way.

With the elements from all trilogies coming together in this masterpiece, this might be something that those who didn't like The Last Jedi would be happy to see. It is so good that Any Star Wars fan will appreciate it.
