Theros Beyond Death Brings Back A Familiar Magic: The Gathering Artifact Token

Wizards of the Coast is bringing back a lot of things in the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set Theros Beyond Death: Elspeth, Ashiok, Theros gods, Polukranos, Sagas, Devotion, Constellation, and now we know that the new expansion will also bring back the colorless artifact token known called Gold.

Today, a flavorful new green Saga Enchantment card called "The First Iroanian Games" was revealed, and the Olympics-themed card has four chapters that each does a different thing. Check it out:

English translation:

I: Create a 1/1 human soldier token. II: Put three + 1 / + 1 counters on target creature you control. III: If you control a creature with power 4 or more, draw two cards. IV: Create a Gold artifact token.

As revealed, the final chapter lets you create a colorless artifact token called Gold, which is similar to Treature tokens in that both can be sacrificed to produce a mana of any color, but unlike Treasure tokens, you don't need to tap to activate its ability and sacrifice.

This is not the first time an MTG card has created this kind of token before. Only two cards printed before can produce a Gold token: "King Macar, the Gold-Cursed" and "Gild".
