[UPDATED] Alternate Cut of Cats has Characters with Visible Buttholes

[UPDATE] A person who has worked on VFX for Cats has come out to clarify that the editing done on the film was to remove accidental fur sims that looked like genitals. There was no actual intention to put cat buttholes in the movie.

The original article is as follows:

Cats was no doubt a box office flop, and the internet basically poked fun at it for being the worst movie ever made. What's hilarious is, there's actually a more terrible version of the film; one where all the characters have visible buttholes.

As per @jackwaz on Twitter, the Cats movie had hired VFX specialists to rework over 400 shots from the film that featured CGI buttholes. Here's the post:

Naturally, everyone has found this new bit of information hilarious. The movie had already been panned for its terrible look for the characters, but the characters with buttholes? That's just a whole new story.

Now there is an ongoing Twitter movement called #ReleaseTheButtholeCut, and though it's still unclear whether this cut does exist, the tweet is too specific that it has to be true.

We don't know how long this joke is going to go for, but with #ReleaseTheSnyderCut still going strong after three years, I can only imagine the silliness that this #ReleaseTheButtholeCut will bring. Then again, not too many people watched that movie, so I can imagine this dies out in a few weeks. It does make for fun discussion online amidst all this COVID-19 chaos.

A tribe of cats must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

Cats is now available on digital, but you can catch it on Blu-Ray/DVD on April 7.
