The Writers For Avengers: Infinity War Wouldn’t Mind Killing (Spoiler) Again

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.

There was certainly a lot of death and destruction in Avengers: Infinity War. Though the Earth's Mightiest Heroes did all that they could to stop Thanos, the Mad Titan ended up collecting all six Infinity Stones and wiping out half of the universe at the end of the film.

One of those who fell victim to Thanos' finger-snapping massacre during the final arc of Infinity War was the King of Wakanda himself, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). Black Panther's death was quite a surprise for fans – T'Challa was an easy fan favorite when he debuted in Captain America: Civil War and his standalone film experience massive commercial and critical success when it premiered earlier this year.

Despite fan's disbelief, Infinity War co-writer Stephen McFeely tells Buzzfeed that he and his writing partner Christopher Markus don't regret killing off T'Challa.

"First of all, we would do it all over again. But remember, when we're writing [Infinity War], and even shooting, there is no Black Panther movie. We don't know it's going to be so good, so effective, so resonant. And we had to treat all these characters the same. People who leave us [in Infinity War] are the leads of their own franchises. And Black Panther's no different."

McFeely does have a point. The story should always come first. And besides, there's no way that Marvel's going to leave Black Panther dead knowing that he's got another standalone movie on the way. Fans are just worrying unnecessarily.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
