The Witcher Star Joey Batey Shares First Impression of New Geralt Liam Hemsworth


People are still dealing with the idea that Henry Cavill is officially leaving The Witcher and that Geralt of Rivia will be played by Liam Hemsworth. However, it looks like Joey Batey is ready to work with the Hunger Games actor in the fourth season of the Netflix series. The Witcher: Blood Origin star has just confirmed he has already met Hemsworth and shared his thoughts on his new co-star.

Joey Batey recently spoke to Total Film about The Witcher: Blood Origin but he also discussed the main series and how he feels about Henry Cavill's departure.

"I'm obviously gonna miss Henry a huge amount," Batey said. "Henry and I are very, very good pals and he has been the stalwart of the show, the gravity of the show, and the driving force of the show for four years now."

He then continued by revealing he has already met Liam Hemsworth and is excited to work with the new Geralt actor.

"Liam, I've already spoken to him a little bit," Batey said. "He is throwing himself into the deep end of this mythos and this canon with such power and grace and aplomb that I'm really excited to work with him and to see the kind of interpretation that he's going to bring together. I think it's exciting."

It has not yet been confirmed when Liam Hemsworth will begin filming as Geralt for The Witcher Season 4 but fans will still get a chance to see Henry Cavill as the White Wolf one last time. Cavill will reprise the role in the third season which is expected to air on Netflix next year.

Meanwhile, Joey Batey is set to return as Jaskier in The Witcher: Blood Origin where he will play a small yet important role. The spin-off series will premiere on Netflix on December 25, 2022.
