The Witcher Star Henry Cavill Interested to Play James Bond Villain

Daniel Craig's reign as James Bond ends with No Time to Die and fans are already making suggestions online on who should be the next 007. One of the names that keep on popping up is The Witcher and Man of Steel star Henry Cavill. But would he also be interested to play the villain instead?

During an interview with The Movie Dweeb, instead of the question about playing the iconic spy, he was asked if he would consider playing a James Bond villain instead. He answered, "If Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson] are interested me in any capacity to be a part of their movies, then I will gladly have that discussion with them, and that would be something I'd be very keen to explore further."

It sounds like Cavill is interested to be part of the James Bond franchise whether he plays either 007 himself or the villain. If he ends up playing the antagonist, it wouldn't be a bad idea. After all, he played the villain in Mission: Impossible - Fallout and he was great in it. Of course, all of us would prefer to see him as James Bond himself. He has proved in films like The Man from U.N.C.L.E. that he can be a great James Bond and he has the suave to play the character.

The actor actually has a long history with James Bond. Back when the producers were casting for a new Bond in 2005, the final choice was between him and Craig, who ended up getting the role. Years ago, Cavill has expressed that he would be interested to take over the role once Craig gives up. Last year, an artificial intelligence device selected Cavill as the ideal successor, which fueled up fans' petitions to have him as the next 007.

Whether it's Bond himself or the villain, it would be great to see Cavill as part of the franchise. Besides the fact that he has the looks and physique, he is a great actor as well and we know that he can do well in action sequences. We will find out in the near future if the fans' wish will actually come true.
