The Witcher Star Freya Allan Joins Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes


Princess Cirilla of Cintra is moving from the Continent to a completely new planet. The Witcher star Freya Allan has just joined the cast of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the new sequel of the sci-fi franchise.

According to Deadline, sources have confirmed that Freya Allan will be joining Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the recently announced sequel in the Planet of the Apes franchise. Allan joins Owen Teague, who will play the new lead ape in the film. The movie will be directed by Maze Runner director Wes Ball and set to star Peter Macon.

Details about Freya Allan's role in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes have not yet been revealed. However, it has been confirmed that she will play a human instead of an ape in the project. Production is already set to begin next month so we could be getting new updates on the sequel soon.

Freya Allan is best known for playing Princess Cirilla of Cintra, or Ciri, in Netflix's The Witcher series. She is expected to return in the show's third season which is already set to premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2023.

So what can we expect for Ciri in The Witcher Season 3? In the latest season finale, Ciri is now the one person that everyone is after on the Continent. The Brotherhood has put a bounty on her as well as Geralt of Rivia. In addition to that, Francesca is convinced that Ciri is the elves' only hope. But the worse of it is that her real father Duny is still very much alive and has returned as Emperor Emhyr.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has not yet been given an official release date. The Witcher Season 3 premieres on Netflix in mid-2023.
