The Witcher Star Freya Allan Explains Ciri's Evolution in Season 2; Teases Season 3, and More

The Witcher Season 2 is coming to Netflix this Friday, and one of the most interesting characters is Ciri (played by Freya Allan). The beginning of the show's sophomore season sees Ciri head to Kaer Morhen to train with Geralt (Henry Cavill) and the other Witchers, and it looks like she will go through a major transformation in the upcoming episodes based on the fantasy book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Now, the 20-year-old actress shared what she thinks about her character's evolution. Although she enjoys seeing her character evolve in the show, she feels she still has a long way to go before she can slay monsters like Geralt.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Freya explained Ciri's evolution in Season 2:

"I mean, combat wise, she's got a long way to go. I as Freya was like, can't I just kill the monsters myself instead of Geralt? I wasn't allowed to do anything like that," Allan said. "So I think she's got a long way to go. She's got monsters to kill. She's got people to fight, but yeah, and I think she's always going to be evolving for however many seasons we are able to do, we're going to be doing season three and I've already read some episodes. And there's always, obviously each season she's going to change and strengthen and find new weaknesses and everything like that. So we'll just have to see."

It looks like Freya's character will be spending a lot of time with Geralt in Season 2, but it's clear that her evolution will continue in Season 3 and beyond. It's likely that the pair will team-up in epic battles.

The official synopsis for The Witcher Season 2 reads:

"Convinced Yennefer's life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent's kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

The Witcher Season 2 is set to release on Netflix on Friday, Dec. 17. You can read more details about the new episodes here.
