The Witcher Showrunner Teases Triss Merigold's Larger Role in Season 2

There is little doubt that the first season of The Witcher gave fans exactly what they were hoping for. However, some have pointed out that Triss Merigold only had a tiny role to play in the Netflix series. Luckily, Lauren S. Hissrich has just confirmed that Triss will be back and she could play a bigger part in Season 2.

Hissrich recently spoke to Comicbook.com about the show and she was quick to agree that Triss should have appeared a bit more in the series. Luckily, the Witcher showrunner confirmed that Anna Shaffer's character will be back in the next season.

"You will see Triss again, but the most important thing, and I love this question because there have been a lot of questions actually about the choices that we make to change things in the adaptation, and what I've always said is there is always a reason to do it," Hissrich said. "We're not doing it for our egos. We're not doing it because it's easier."

Hissrich also pointed out that she has big plans for Triss in the future.

"What we're trying to do is set up the appropriate building blocks for our story, so there is stuff that I know that I want to happen to Triss in Season One and Season Two, and, God willing, beyond that," she said. "So I need to make sure that that story is set up appropriately, and the best way to do that was actually to bring her and introduce her in a story that she's not in in the novel."

This is certainly welcome news for fans who were disappointed about Triss' role in the series. Needless to say, we can't wait for the second season already.

The first season of The Witcher is currently streaming on Netflix.
