The Witcher Showrunner Responds to Fans Wanting Mark Hamill as Vesemir

The Witcher continues to be a fan-favorite show for many, despite some mixed reviews from the critics. Sure, the writing could use some work but the special effects, cool fights, and solid acting have pushed this Netflix show to the mainstream, something the games could only dream of doing. As we wait for The Witcher Season 2, many fans are hoping to see some of their favorites from the games and books, including Geralt's mentor Vesemir.

Many fans want Mark Hamill to play Vesemir when The Witcher Season 2 debuts and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has an interesting response to those demands. Speaking with IGN, Hissrich revealed that she has always been interested in casting Hamill for the series. While the showrunner admits that she hasn't spoken with his agent yet, Hissrich does love seeing the fans discuss the possibilities.

Here's what Hissrich said about Mark Hamill appearing in The Witcher:

"Mark has always been of interest to me and interest to the project. We have not contacted his agent yet because we're not casting the role quite yet, but that being said, I am loving what's happening on the internet. And I'm loving all of the fan reaction to it. Obviously, we've seen what a huge fanbase The Witcher has, and to add that to a Star Wars fanbase... it makes my mind explode a little bit."

Will we actually see Mark Hamill as Vesemir? We won't know unless some casting news is made but you know that he would be great for the role. Hissrich has done a great job with the show so far and I think we should trust her when it comes to who should play as Vesemir.

The Witcher is now streaming on Netflix.
