The Witcher Showrunner Details Some Deleted Scenes with Yennefer

The Witcher has managed to find its place in pop culture, reaching mainstream heights in ways that the video games never managed to. Even with the weird way this show told its story, fans are still looking forward to The Witcher Season 2, especially since the storytelling will be much more linear and easier to follow. However, the creators had to cut some scenes, as is the case with all entertainment mediums, and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has detailed some deleted scenes she regrets cutting.

Speaking with Pure Fandom, Hissrich talked about some of the deleted scenes that she regrets cutting. One of these scenes discussed how there was a scene where Yennefer, Fringilla, and Sabrina discussed their transformations, which actually would have made for intriguing tv. While fans already love Yennefer, having her talk about the transformation would have humanized the character quite a bit.

Hissrich also revealed a scene where Yennefer meets a very young Triss. Here's how her detailing how it would have gone:

"We also filmed a scene of Yen meeting a very young Triss, who'd just arrived at Aretuza; it served to show how far Yennefer had come in her years at Aretuza, and created a sense of mentorship between these two sorceresses."

Personally, I would have liked to have seen these scenes just to see more of Yennefer. She does get plenty of screen time as is but more characterization can always be appreciated. There's always room for improvement on The Witcher Season 2 so we have that to look forward to.

Fans can stream The Witcher right now on Netflix.
