The Witcher Season 3 Poster Gives Heroic Sendoff To Henry Cavill’s Last Time As Geralt

Henry Cavill is soon departing The Witcher as the beloved Geralt, and The Witcher Season 3 poster pretty much unveils the gutting truth.

Before ending 2022, Cavill made his DCU exit after having had his Black Adam cameo supposedly bring him back in the franchise.

This led DC fans to withdraw from how DC Studios boss James Gunn intended on reconstructing the franchise with his new slate.

Apart from Cavill losing the Man of Steel role, The Witcher then reported having to bid the actor farewell from his titular role, as well.

While reasons behind his exit from the Netflix series remain undercover, The Witcher Season 4 is set to replace his Geralt with Liam Hemsworth.

For now, though, The Witcher Season 3 has unveiled our first (last) look at Cavill leading the series, seemingly symbolizing Cavill will be missed from his role. You can check the poster out in the tweet below:

The poster features Geralt, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) sharing an emotional embrace with one another, along with the caption: “Hold tight. ‘Til tomorrow.”

Based on the caption, it is likely we’ll be receiving our first The Witcher Season 3 trailer by tomorrow, as well.

Many fans speculated that Henry Cavill intentionally left the Netflix series to prioritize his role in DC.

As the actor remained silent, The Witcher creator’s statement sparked rumors on Cavill not being satisfied with the show’s adaptation of one of his favorite video games.

“Henry has given so much to the show and so we want to honor that appropriately.” The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich previously said.

“[The Witcher Season 3] is the closest we’ve done as a one-to-one adaptation of the books.” The showrunner added, “There’s so much that we were able to stick really, really closely with the books.”

Meanwhile, fans are declaring The Witcher Season 3 as the series' last, seeing as none are in favor of watching Liam Hemsworth reprise the role in Season 4:

The Witcher Season 3 is expected to release this summer. You can check out more details about the upcoming season here.
