Zack Snyder Fuels Feud with James Gunn by Posting Henry Cavill’s Superman Amid DC Reboot

DC fans have long been pitting Zack Snyder and new DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn against each other, seeing as both had the potential to drive the DCU towards a better future.

As the controversy surrounding DC and Zack Snyder has yet to end somehow, Gunn announcing he is set to direct Superman: Legacy on the same date Snyder makes an epic DC announcement crossed the line with DC fans.

This malicious move was pointed out by the fandom, only for Snyder to debunk that he and the new DC Studios boss have remained friends.

“He might [appear at the Snyder Con]. you know, James is like… Look, James is a buddy, so… I mean, James wrote Dawn of the Dead, I don’t know if you’re aware of that.”

However, it would seem that both directors have a long way before ultimately convincing DC fans that they are, as they claim, chummy buddies.

Recently, James Gunn just teased our first look at his Superman: Legacy reboot for the new DC slate on the DC Hero’s anniversary.

Coincidentally, on the same day, Zack Snyder had also unveiled never-before-seen photos of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel era through Vero (via The Direct).

The photos included Cavill sporting a more detailed vision of the Superman suit, and his secret identity as Clark Kent.

As you might be aware, Henry Cavill is no longer playing the DC hero in Gunn’s new DC slate.

While Snyder has yet to make a statement as to why he chose to post it on the same day Gunn teased his new film, it is possible that this is in celebration of Superman’s anniversary. Nothing more.

It is worth mentioning that amid this petty conspiracy being formed by DC fans, James Gunn has previously replied to a Snyderverse fan claiming he is out to sabotage the Dawn of the Dead director.

“Wait, how do you think I knew to post it two hours before Zack’s post??” Gunn tweeted.

It remains to be seen how fans will ever be convinced that there is a non-existential feud between the two DC directors.
