The Witcher Season 2 Casts Vesemir and It's Not Mark Hamill

Well, the article title says it all, doesn't it? Despite months of fans wanting Mark Hamill to be Vesemir, Netflix has announced that Kim Bodnia will play the character when The Witcher Season 2 comes to the streaming service. While this will be disappointing to a number of fans, we don't blame them for doing this since they should do what's good for their story and not just give in to public pressure.

Bodnia is a pretty good actor and most of the fans who aren't upset about Hamill are pretty happy about the casting. His work on the British Spy series Killing Eve has received a ton of praise and we're excited to see how he meshes in an entirely different genre. Then again, given his age, we're sure that he'll be able to play Vesemir without any problems.

Here's how Vesemir's character was described:

"A charming relic of the witcher Golden Age, Vesemir is the oldest and most experienced witcher in our series, as well as a father figure to Geralt. As one of the survivors of The Massacre at Kaer Morhen, a haunting slaughter that nearly exterminated the Witchers, he is fiercely protective of the remaining few, who he sees as an endangered community who can find glory on "the Path" slaying monsters."

Vesemir is one of the best characters in The Witcher so here's hoping that the Netflix series handles him well. Despite his age, Vesemir can handle himself in a fight and we're sure that he'll get some kickass fight scenes.

The Witcher Season 2 will be coming to Netflix soon.
