The Witcher Prequel, Blood Origin, Allegedly Eyeing Jason Momoa

Netflix's second season of The Witcher is currently back in production, but there are now plans to spinoff the show; one of which is a prequel called The Witcher: Blood Origin. What's fascinating is, the series could be looking at another DCEU figure to be the star of the show.

As reported by @TheWitcher_net, The Witcher: Blood Origin is currently looking at Henry Cavill's Justice League co-star, Jason Momoa, to star in the show. Here's the post:

Just in case you didn't know, Blood Origin is said to be a limited prequel series that would be taking place 1,200 years before the events of the original Witcher show, and it will follow the very first Witcher (who they are likely eyeing Momoa for).

I admit the source can be kind of iffy, but if they were looking at actors, I think Momoa could very well fit the part. Counting that The Witcher is Netflix's attempt at the streaming service's own Game of Thrones, what better choice for the star other than Khal Drogo himself? Then again, Momoa does seem to have quite the busy schedule, what with working on Dune as well as the Aquaman sequel.

Until we get any official announcement from Netflix, all we can really do is wait. Blood Origin is just one other spinoff of The Witcher incoming, as there is also an animated film in the works called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. While HBO had waited for Game of Thrones to end before they attempted spinoffs, Netflix is admittedly trying to one-up the network by working on the spinoffs while the main show was still ongoing.

While no release dates have been set, you can catch the second season of The Witcher on Netflix sometime in 2021.
