The Witcher 2 Finishes Production After Getting Delayed For A Year

The production for The Witcher Season 2 hasn't been a smooth journey. The pandemic has delayed production multiple times. Add the fact that the main star of the Netflix series, Henry Cavill, had an injury so he had to step back for some time during the filming of the series.

Despite the difficult times, the official Twitter of the series shared an image of Cavill as Geralt. The actor is seen celebrating the second season's production coming to a close. The Twitter account captioned it with "That's a wrap on Season 2! The White Wolf awaits you back on The Continent."

Before Cavill's photo was uploaded on Twitter, a hair and makeup artist for the series first revealed that season 2 has wrapped filming. The hair and makeup artist is Jacqueline Rathore. She posted an Instagram story with a photograph of a barren corkboard with a bunch of pins tacked to it. It had a colorful overlay which confirmed that the series has officially finished filming. The series officially wrapped its production on April 1.

The series started filming in February 2020 but the production was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The delays were prompted for the production to be rescheduled. IGN noted that this led to Thue Rasmussen dropping out of the cast, having originally signed up to portray Eskel in Season 2.

Netflix later resumed production in August. In November, filming moved back to a studio before England's second national lockdown. Less than a week later, the filming was shut down due to multiple COVID-19 positive tests.

As of the moment, there is no specific air date that has been released for The Witcher Season 2.
