Who Is Matt Cugat in The Witch and the Beast?
Matt Cugat is the leader of the Paladin Corps’ Sixth Battalion of the Third Continent. He is known as the man of ice, who holds power that is equal to that of a witch.
Despite his incredibly powerful abilities, Captain Cugat is human. He only made a pact with a primordial power, the Great Ice Elemental, which explains his incredibly powerful ice abilities.
He often goes out and acts on his own when it comes to witches, leaving other officers behind.
This made it harder for the Executioner to use him as a pawn in his grand plan to obtain Ashgan, the demonic sword of Helga Velvette.
What Happens to Matt Cugat in The Witch and the Beast Episode 7?
Matt Cugat starts strong at the beginning of the episode. He successfully captures Helga and Guideau, and he also seals Ashgan with his ice elemental abilities.
He then sends them back to the headquarters for investigation and questioning after Ashaf makes an appearance.
Ashaf informs Matt about a shady individual who could be framing Helga Velvette.
He says it could be that the Executioner, known for being an underground witch-hunting specialist, is actually behind everything that’s happening.
Matt doesn’t believe Ashaf since it’s only his speculation. However, Lowell appears and strikes Matt from behind with what looks like a fire sword.
She knows that Matt is weak to heat, which means she’s out to kill him for good.
Lowell also reveals that Matt has come to know a little too much, which makes him unfit to become a good pawn for the Executioner any longer.
So, Does Matt Cugat Die in The Witch and the Beast Episode 7?
Despite Lowell’s attack and betrayal, Captain Matt Cugat is still alive in The Witch and the Beast. He has serious injuries, but they weren't enough to kill him.
When Guideau escaped from the headquarters, she quickly went to where Ashaf and Matt were. She confirms what happened, and Ashaf moves like Lowell didn’t shoot a gun at his head.
Ashaf then proceeds to treat Matt Cugat, who’s fighting for his life. Ashaf’s treatment is effective, making it faster for Cugat to recover.
