The Witch and the Beast is a dark fantasy anime that’s coming in Winter 24. In the leadup to its premiere, The Witch and the Beast revealed more members of its star-studded cast.
More VAs were revealed via the anime’s official website. Along with the anime’s cast, the show also got a new key visual that shows off its two main characters.
The Witch and the Beast Announces More Cast Members
Announced back in August 2022, The Witch and the Beast is based on the dark fantasy manga of the same name that was published by Kodansha.
Previously, the anime announced its two main VAs. The first is Yo Taichi who plays Guideau. Taichi is the voice of Suphia in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Akane Sawatari in Chainsaw Man.
Alongside Taichi is Toshiyuki Morikawa as Ashaf. Morikawa is a popular VA who is known for playing Minato Namikaze in Naruto and Yoshikage Kira in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Now, the anime revealed 10 new voice cast members, all of whom have played numerous roles in other popular shows. The rest of the main cast includes:
- Yoko Hikasa (Qiang Lei in Kingdom) as Ione
- Noriko Shibasaki (Chisato Chikaishi in Tsugumomo) as Mary
- Junko Minagawa (Mereoleona Vermillion in Black Clover) as Kiera Haines
- Hidenobu Kiuchi (Kenzo Tenma in Monster) as Reuben Cole
- Atsushi Kousaka (Prussia in Hetalia Axis Powers) as Shulk
- Takuma Terashima (Shiroe in Log Horizon) as Loran
- Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in Spy x Family) as Phanora Kristoffel
- Ryota Ohsaka (Sadao Maou in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) as Johan
- Hozumi Gōda (Kawajiri in Dorohedoro) as Jeff Enker
- Nozomu Sasaki (Yusuke Urameshi in Yu Yu Hakusho) as Necromancer

The Witch and the Beast Anime to Release in January 2024
Handling animation duties for this anime is Yokohama Animation Lab, the studio behind the ongoing The Kingdoms of Ruin anime, as well as The Great Cleric.
As for its story, the anime follows Ashaf and Guideau. Ashaf is a man with a coffin strapped to his back. Meanwhile, Guideau has the eyes of a beast. Their goal is to face off against a witch who has settled in a town.
The Witch and the Beast is set to be released in January 2024. There’s no word yet on an official release date, though chances are that its premiere will happen early in the month.
Meanwhile, fans outside of Japan will be happy to know that the anime will be streamed on Crunchyroll in the US and other select regions.
