The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wants To Play Another DC Comic Book Character

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has already played The Comedian in Watchmen and Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, the star of The Walking Dead wants to play yet another DC comic book character in the future.

Morgan recently joined his TWD co-star Norman Reedus at the Walker Stalker Con for the An Evening with Norman & Jeffrey special (via ComicBook.com). The actors were asked if they would be interested in playing Marvel characters. Reedus admitted he wants to be Ghost Rider or Silver Surfer. However, Morgan's response was decidedly more interesting. Although he considered being Reed Richards, he also stated that Fantastic Four has already "been done." Instead, Morgan chose to stick with DC.

"The only one I want to play is DC and Lobo. He's badass," Morgan said. "Marvel, I don't know, everyone that's in it is pretty good. I feel like all the greatest characters, they're working."

This isn't the first time that Morgan has expressed interest in playing the Last Czarnian. He previously admitted that he wanted to portray Lobo in 2009, just after appearing in Watchmen. Although it is unlikely that Morgan will fulfill his wish, Warner Bros. might surprise us in the future.

Morgan has played several comic book characters in his long career. He had an uncredited role as Jeb Turnbull in Jonah Hex and played Clay in 2010's adaptation of Vertigo's The Losers. His only non-DC role has been as Negan in The Walking Dead.

Morgan will return as Negan in The Walking Dead Season 9, which premieres on AMC on October 7.
