The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs Auditioned for Spider-Man and Han Solo

Every Walking Dead fan has watched Chandler Riggs grow up in front of their eyes as Carl Grimes, but with his character set to die in the next episode of TWD, Riggs will soon be out of the job. As it turns out, he was already busy looking for his next break, and he had auditioned for some really big roles.

Talking to ComicBook, Riggs revealed:

"I auditioned for Spider-Man. I auditioned for Han Solo, all those big movies. I would love to do something like that. It would be awesome, especially now that I have a lot more free time, it would be really, really cool."

Though Lucasfilm ended up picking someone older to play a young Han Solo, I could say that Riggs is probably the right age to play Peter Parker. Of course, we instead got Tom Holland in the role, which is still fantastic, but it would have been a whole lot different if Riggs was cast as Peter. I guess they would have to kill him in The Walking Dead earlier, so he can have more time to Spider-Man his way into Hollywood.

A lot of fans are sad to see Riggs go, but hopefully he doesn't get typecast in the role and finds some work outside of the franchise. With Carl being such an integral connection to lead character Rick Grimes, I bet we might even see Riggs make some cameos here and there as a ghost. I mean, of Lorrie would do it, why not Carl?

The Walking Dead8 comes to AMC Feb. 25.
