The Walking Dead Showrunner Angela Kang Answers The Question About Daryl's Sexuality

One of the questions that many The Walking Dead fans seem to have on their minds is Daryl's sexuality. The character has been around for nine seasons, but he has yet to romantically get involved. For the longest time, there have been rumors that Daryl might be asexual. Thankfully, we're about to know more.

The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang was asked about the question in a new interview and promised that the show will delve deeper into this part of Daryl's life in Season 10.

"I think that Daryl, he's an abused character who does not trust people easily, which makes it pretty hard to get into some relationships," Kang told Insider.

"But, we'll be exploring some more aspects related to that in the following season. I hope that answers the question a bit," she went on to say.

Spoiler Alert! Details from The Walking Dead Season 9 finale discussed below

Some The Walking Dead fans seem to be on board a Carol and Daryl romance. After all, her relationship with Ezekiel is over. She is set to stay in Alexandria with the archer while the former king remain at Hilltop after the Kingdom's fall.

In the Season 9 finale, we see Ezekiel ask Daryl to back off. Where is his head at right now with the death of Henry and a crumbling marriage?

"For Ezekiel, [there's] also the pain of... he sees this guy who is incredibly close to his wife, who he feels is drifting away from him. Whether or not there's truth in that, it's really about the eyes of the beholder," Kang explained.

Others think that a romance between Daryl and Connie would be great to see instead. Their out-of-nowhere pairing this season seems to be hinting that their bond could develop into something more.

After all, fans believe that Daryl entrusting Dog to Connie in a previous episode could be a sign that he is slowly opening up and becoming more comfortable with letting people in.

Either way, with Norman Reedus succeeding Andrew Lincoln as the new lead, it is not unlikely that his protagonist role will finally give some room for a romantic relationship.

What do you think of this? Would you like to see Daryl with a love interest in The Walking Dead Season 10?
